When the Cubs play the Cardinals this weekend in the National League Division Series at Busch Stadium, there are few places where Chicagoans will feel completely at home.

As a Chicago transplant living in Cardinals country, I know well that Chicago bars are few and far between. But there are a few places that might be more welcoming than others:

A group called the Bears Fans of St. Louis congregates at SOHA Bar & Grill on Hampton Avenue for games, although I don’t think that establishment will appreciate the recognition.

Though St. Louis lacks official Chicago bars, Windy City food abounds. Vinnie’s Italian Beef and Gyros, in Lindenwood Park, is known for its Chicago-style Italian beef. So are Blues City Deli in Benton Park and Adriana’s on The HillSteve’s Hot Dogs, which has locations on The Hill and in Tower Grove East, serves Chicago-style hot dogs, and Pi Pizzeria and Black Thorn Pub, located in Tower Grove South, can fulfill your deep-dish pizza needs.

The beloved Half Acre and Revolution Brewing ales have yet to make it to St. Louis, but Lagunitas Brewing Co. makes quite a showing at Flying Saucerdowntown. Or you can purchase the brews at Randall’s Wines & Spirits in Lafayette Square. Beyond Goose Island, which Chicagoans don’t want to discuss since its acquisition by Anheuser-Busch InBev, St. Louis has shunned Chicago beers.
